Karola Kraus (*23 January 1961 in St. Georgen, Germany) studied art history, modern German literature and classical archaeology at the universities of Stuttgart and Munich. From 1991 to 1994 she managed the non-commercial K-raum Daxer exhibition space in Munich and subsequently worked as a consultant and administrator for the Daxer Collection. Between 1996 and 1998 she worked for the artist Katharina Sieverding. Kraus was co-founder of the INIT-Kunsthalle in Berlin and curated exhibition projects in Berlin, Moscow and Athens. She was Director of the Kunstverein Braunschweig from 1999 to 2006, and of the Staatliche Kunsthalle Baden-Baden from 2006 to 2010.
Karola Kraus has been Director of the Museum Moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig in Vienna since 2010.
